I had an amazing supervisor at one of my first jobs who opened my mind to taking this even farther. Looking back on a situation she said, "You were thinking there were only two options - one right answer and the mistake you feared you would make. What if instead you asked yourself, 'What would my grandmother say about this?' or 'How would a character in a book handle this situation?' Of course those were things that never even came close to crossing my mind as I sat there afraid of messing up.
Whenever I hear about "asking the right questions," I remember that.
